    Future planning at NIACC
I hope you will engage in the Wiki conversations and updates. I’m excited and a bit anxious to see how this tool will work for us. Remember, it will only work if you decide to engage and you do this by signing up. - Dr. Deb Derr, President, NIACC

How do we get from where we are today to where we want to be in the future?
Student interaction is the key that I have seen in the past year. Using the tools from Web 2.0 as well as different technologies within the classroom is going to keep them interested and interactive during lectures and labs.

I have been testing some concepts from the CIT2008 conference that I attended a few weeks ago. I have created a Facebook page for use with one class, I am testing a web based question, answer, results system. I would prefer to have the clickers to gain better and more accurate feedback though. I have incorporated Microsoft Groove into a team collaboration tool for a team project with another course.

Feedback from the students has been positive with comments about why we did not use this today if I do not get teh time to implement the tools into the lecture.

I am researching Web 2.0 as part of a course for my Phd and will share the results if anyone wants them, but I can say using these tools and being creative to get the students interactive does increase attendance as well as provides the atmosphere that change is happening and using what they are is key to success.
